The Hive Tyrant is a huge synapse creature encountered in the later stage of a Tyranid invasion. It posses advanced intelligence and lead troops in a strategic way. By itself, it is a major threat to any opponent since it can adapt to all type of enemies via its weapons.
Tactics[]
In game, the Hive Tyrant is the main hero/commander of the Tyranid faction. It is extremely tanky, even early on and can benefit from a multitude a upgrade in order to adapt to the battlefield. The Tyrant, however powerful, revel its full potential when fighting alongside your swarm of unit. Indeed, as a synapse creature, it can give all surrounding troops bonus combat and defence benefits.
Keep in mind that it is a extremely slow unit (comparatively to most of your army) and require some micro management.
