OverviewEdit

The Sentinel is a fast scout walker of the Imperial Guard. It possesses a variety of individual weapon upgrade options while proving useful in reconnaissance, light combat, raiding and uncapturing enemy Strategic Points, as well as revealing stealth units after upgraded.

AssessmentEdit

Built from a Mechanized Command structure once the "Sentinel Depot add-on" is obtained. This unit is armed with a Multi-laser that is effective against Infantry by default. The Sentinel can uncap enemy strategic points, denying resources to the enemy, however it is incapable of capturing strategic points for the controlling player.

Individual, and thus mutually exclusive, upgrades for this unit include a variety of different weapons each being effective against different unit types. Heavy Flamer effective against Infantry, Rocket Launcher effective against light Vehicles, Autocannon crushing buildings, Lascannon effective against Vehicles, or Plasma Cannon which is effective against Infantry, Heavy Infantry, and Structures. Additionally to the unit upgrades that the Sentinel can receive there are a few global upgrades that improve the unit's armor and detection radius.

Sentinel Sensors Research 35 Requisition, 10 Power Mechanized Command
  • Increases keen sight radius of all Sentinels; grants infiltration detection.
Sentinel Armor Research 110 Requisition, 60 Power Mechanized Command
  • Increases Sentinels' armor rating, from 'unarmored' to 'armored vehicle'.
