Description[]

The Shadowsword Titanicus is a dedicated Titan-Killer Variant of the Baneblade. It trades most of its armament for a Volcano-Cannon, which can take down most Titan Units in but a few shots, given their Void Shields are depleted or reasonably low enough for it to penetrate. Its secondary armament consists only of a few heavy bolters for a somewhat stable anti-infantry defense, although it is completely unreliable in terms of self-defence.

The Shadowsword fills a very small tactical niche as Titan-Counter and if used as such is very powerful, however it suffers even more from the general drawbacks of the Baneblade-Class - it is extremely slow, even for a Baneblade, very hard to manoeuver around, and in addition to that, has very slow firing rate. It also has a rather long setup time, but gives back a little with its long range and high damage output. It can also, to some degree, get used as a makeshift siege tank, but it's extremly slow firing speed and laughable secondary armament makes this a dangerous task.

An unorthodox, yet effective way to utilize Shadowsword is to use its main gun to kill commanders. Squishy caster-types, like Great Ethereal or Farseer can be reliably dropped in one or two shots. Field 2-3 of these tanks, set them to "Hold Fire" stance. When the enemy commander appears in range, quickly switch the stance to "Hold ground" (F2) and issue an attack order on the target. Watch even the fully-leveled commanders' healthbars disappear.

Abilities[]

Volcano cannon overdrive - fires a long-range, devastating beam at the target that rips through void shields. Instantly cripples most titans and heavy vehicles, one-shots most other units and can also be used to destroy most superweapons in one hit. Additionally, it has longer range over a standard Shadowsword volcano cannon and is faster to fire after repositioning. Ability has a 1 second charge-up time, during which the shot can still be cancelled by issuing a "stop" command if the target is no longer in range.

Aiming the Overdrive to the point at the ground instead of a single target will damage all units in a small area of effect around the point - useful for taking out clusters of buildings, or effectively extending the tank's reach a bit.

The only downside is the high req/power cost and very long cooldown.
